Law & Order - CRIME

This topic has aroused a great deal of anxiety amongst the people of Britain. Here are just a few of the 'Have your say!' comments that we have received over recent weeks.

There have been a lot of incidents lately involving shooting and stabbings, an alarming amount carried out by children/teenagers.

Isn't it about time that parents, peers, teachers etc were allowed to discipline children again and they were actually given some rules and boundaries to conform to, instead of knowing what far too many rights they have going round insulting, abusing and at worst killing people. Also youthes who do commit crimes actually do get punished for it rather than a year or so in a young offenders institute. Female Respondent from Scotland

Gun and knife crime appears to be out of control. It is seeping insidiously into our society with a report of someone being killed or injured in an incident each week. There is a lot of hand wringing from politicians and other leaders, and as usual the wet liberals have to pontificate on how these poor dears (the criminals) come from a deprived background and were probably not breast fed at birth, etc but no one is actually doing anything about it. It is tied in closely with anti social behaviour because some are too frightened to challenge these scum and others who have been brave enough have paid a terrible price with their life. We are living in a totally morally bankrupt society where standards are declining every day.

Zero tolerance has got to be worth investigating considering the increase in gun and knife related crime!

We are allowing this type of crime to expand without any true deterrents. We need to stamp on gangs hard, we also need to bring back youth clubs that give out young teens a positive outlook and positive things to do in the community instead of them running amok in self styled gangs. It is also important to teach our young manners and right and wrong before they reach their teens using appropriate real punishments rather than the softly softly approach we have now. We seem to have imported a lot of violent crime with the immigrant population where they have come from societies that openly tolerate violence back in their former countries and need to weed out or not let in any of this type of character.
